Day 6 - 30/4/2011 - Batlow and Tumut Day Trip
Saturday - Woke up to sounds of all the horses & their riders getting ready to set off for their Trail ride. There must have been around 100 vehicles there. Great to watch.
Our travel diary to document our travel and camping adventures and to share them with our family and friends.

Snowy Mountains Trip - Day 5
Day 5 - 29/4/2011 - Cabramurra and Khancoban Day Trip
Today was the first day that we really started to experience the cold weather. Something that we don’t generally get to experience in Bundy. Overnight the temperature went down to 0.1deg outside and 15deg inside. There was frost on the car. We now wouldn’t be without the diesel heater that we optioned into the Quantum!! The following photo shows how good the heater is!!

Snowy Mountains Trip - Day 4
Day 4 - 28/4/2011 - Young to Tumbarumba
Another 8am departure, you wouldn’t think that we were on holidays!!!!. First destination was Cootamundra. We didn’t stop here but just drove through a few streets - looks like a lovely town and would definitely like to go back again to have a proper wander and to get some more photos of those beautiful old houses and buildings.
At Cootamundra we turned off and followed the signs to Gundagai - the road across to Coolac was only a minor road but worth driving because the countryside was just beautiful. The sort of countryside I picture when I think of places like Cootamundra - postcard stuff.
At Coolac we joined onto the Hume Highway and started hauling our little van up the hills to the Gundagai turnoff. We didn’t realise that the “Dog on the Tuckerbox” was not actually in Gundagai so when we saw the sign for the Tuckerbox turnoff in 500m we had to throw out the parachute so we didn’t miss it! The statue itself is not much to see but it is in a really scenic spot - got some nice photos.

Snowy Mountains Trip - Day 3
Day 3 - 27/4/2011 - Parkes to Young
Yet again another 8am start. At least this time it was feeling more like holidays as we were going to start doing more “touristy” things instead of just driving for hours on end (and this is where the blog entries are going to start getting longer ;-) ). It was a beautiful clear day - couldn’t ask for better weather. Due to the slope of the site, Jodie felt a lot safer staying hitched up to the Pajero last night!

Snowy Mountains Trip - Day 1
Day 1 - 25/4/2011 - Bargara to Goondiwindi
In order for an early getaway we were packed and hitched up the afternoon before. Being able to pack up the fridge and hitch up the night before saved heaps of time on the morning of departure. Because we were planning a big day we managed to get on the road by about 8am.
