Oz Trip - Day 161

Day 161 – 9/10/2012 – Bathurst

It was pretty hard to get moving this morning as it was still 0.4deg outside when we got up at 6:30am. It got down to 0.2deg overnight and there was frost on the Pajero. As we pulled out of Tumbarumba at 8:30am it looked like it was going to be another beautiful day for driving through the country side.

We headed through to Batlow, Tumut, Gundagai, and stopped at Goulburn. On the way into Goulburn we passed the Big Marino.

From there it was on towards Oberon and Bathurst. It was a slow trip as it was pretty windy and a few big climbs and descends. The biggest was coming through the Abercrombie River National Park. I can't remember the grade but it was a long, first gear 3,000 rpm job to crawl up out of the valley which was about the first time we had to do that on a sealed road for the whole trip.

It must have been lambing season as there were paddocks full of them.

In the afternoon when we arrived at Bathurst, it was busier than we expected. We later found out that it was due to a lot of people still in town after the Bathurst 1000. Missed it by that much! It was the weekend just gone.

We also just clocked up 30,000km for the trip!
