Lord Howe Island Trip - Day 6

Day 6 - 20/11/2015 - No Organised Activities Day!

Finally a day to relax and take it easy.  The only planned activity for the day was to take some boxes to the post office before  the parcel cut off time at lunch time.  Due to the luggage weight restrictions when flying in, we had posted 3 boxes a couple of weeks before with some of the heavier items in, e.g. toiletries, reef walking shoes, bush walking poles etc etc.

It was a bit of a challenge getting 3 big boxes to the post office on the bikes.  The easiest way was to take a non-direct way by doing a small slight up hill section along Anderson Road and then it was just a matter of coasting all of the way to the post office along Ned’s Beach Road.  We had a box each on the first run and then while Jodie was doing the paper work I did a sprint back to the Treehouse to collect the third box.

Once the box drop off was out of the way we had a coffee at the Anchorage Cafe.

After lunch we decided to go for a swim and snorkel near the main town centre cove.  Coral viewing wise there was not much to see but I did find two golf balls that must have been from someone driving them off the Signal Point lookout.

That afternoon the colour in the sunset was spectacular!

It was also the first night that was relatively clear and I wasn’t totally exhausted from activities throughout the day so, I went and tried some night time photography.
