We drove over to Jindabyne this morning and parked the van at the bottom of the driveway of the house. The house was just fantastic - 5 bedrooms - 3 bathrooms. 2 bedrooms are in one wing and 3 are in the other - so it’s fantastic for a large group of people. Mind you we needed all of the space to house all of the people!

Lise, Ian, Evelyn and Allan, (sister in-law & her partner, and in-laws), were staying in one wing. John, Megan, Matilda, Joel & Hannah, (friends of Ian and Lisa’s and their kids), and Jodie and I were in the other wing. The kitchen and dining room were huge with two lounge rooms coming off them. The floors were centrally heated throughout the house so even when it got down to -2 degrees outside it was toasty warm inside. Plus there was a big open fire place in the main lounge and dinning area. Ian took great pleasure in lighting it every night with a monster blow torch!
We unpacked a bit of stuff from the van and settled into our room. We had some lunch and then just hung around for the rest of the afternoon enjoying the views and the house and catching up with family and friends that we hadn’t seen for a very long time.
We had a communal dinner in the evening - Evelyn had made two big batches of soup, ministroni and pumpkin, so everyone had soup and bread for dinner. We all had a bit of Ian’s father’s famous Rice Pudding which was absolutely delicious! We couldn’t get too carried away celebrating catching up with everyone as we had an early start planned for the next morning...
