Snowy Mountains Trip - Day 17

Day 17 - 11/5/2011 - Cooma to Tathra

Time to pack up again and get moving towards the coast!  It felt like ages since we had seen the ocean and I think we had withdrawal symptoms!  We were on the road by around 10am and headed out along the Monaro Highway through Nimmitabel then down the range to Bemboka, through to Bega and then down to Tathra.  We set up at the Big 4 Seabreeze Holiday Park - it was a nice park - not as flash as some of the Big 4’s we’ve been to, but still quite good.  It is across the road from the beach.

Photo not from this day but I wanted to put a photo in!

In the photo you can see the EcoTourer a couple of sites up from us.  They were the same people that were at the Jindabyne Big 4 the night that we were there.  Amazing how you run into people around the place.

We basically just set up that afternoon - we put the anti-flap kit up and the side of the annex because the wind was blowing and there were light showers of rain. This was the first time that we’d had to consider the rain on our trip - and even then it wasn't really much to worry about.  The side wall was more for trying to stop the icy wind.  It certainly felt like it was coming off the snow in the mountains!

Since it was freezing cold outside and we had power, we decided to get the TV out (first time on our trip) and we had dinner inside tonight (first time ever!!!).  We had beef rissotto for dinner - and then watched a bit of TV.
