Snowy Mountains Trip - Day 14

Day 14 - 8/5/2011 - Mothers Day and Rest Day

Finally a rest day!!!!  Everyone had a bit of a sleep in this morning - but when we got moving it was a beautiful sunny day.  Still quite chilly outside though!  Ian fired up the BBQ and got some eggs, bacon, tomatoes etc cooking.  We all sat around the table on the deck and had a yummy breakfast and gave Evelyn her Mother’s Day cards and presents.

Masterchef eat your heart out!

Mothers Day Breakfast
After the late breakfast Lisa, Ian, Allan and Evelyn went for a drive out to the Wildbrumby Schnapps distillery while Jodie did some cooking in preparation for leaving and I finally had a bit of time to have a play with the camera.

Jodie and I both had our little helpers.  Matilda, (aka Tilly), was helping Jodie with the baking and had fun making some lovely “dough water” afterwards!

And Joel was teaching me what all of the buttons on the camera did!

That afternoon John & Megan went for a bike ride and left the kids in Lisa’s care.  Mental note to self, if we ever have kids, never ever leave them with Lisa!!!!!  In the time that John and Megan were away Tilly got her hair straightened, got hyped up on sugar and tattooed!!!

And here are some of the results from Joel’s tutelage.

Looking across Lake Jindabyne to the Jindabyne township

During the evening we were watching the snow forecast for tomorrow.  There was a 40% chance of snow to about 1,400m.  If this was correct, I am glad we did the Mt Kosciuszko walk when we did!!!
