Day 125 – 3/9/2012 – Karratha Jobs Day
It was into TJM first thing to pick up the new battery tray. It was exactly the same as the one that had broken and fixed so it was pretty easy for me to put in. Nothing else needed to be changed just an unbolt, swap and rebolt job.
After I finished fitting the new tray we decided to head back out to Hearson Cove for a swim because it was so hot. We pretty much had the place to ourselves today as it was a Monday and everyone was back at work. A lot quieter than the day before.

The beach was entirely shells. |
While I was doing my pre departure check of the vehicle after we returned from the beach, I found a small rod sticking out of one of the front brake callipers. It didn't look right to me so I decided to take it to a brake and clutch workshop just to get them to cast their eye over it. Lucky I did. The place wouldn't let me leave as they said it was too dangerous and I was lucky the rod hadn't come all of the way out which could have caused some major damage. As it was, the end of the rod was only about 5mm away from touching the wheel rim. They said the place that replaced the brake pads in Broome didn't put some small split pins into the back of the rods which stops the rod from coming out. Unbelievable. Anyway, they checked the brakes on all of the other wheels and all was ok, so we were good to go, again.
